How it all began...

So, I've decided to give this whole "blogging" thing a try.  I've come to this decision based on a couple of different reasons:
1. I love to write
2. Most of my family/friends are on the west coast, so I would like to give them a way to keep up with my life here
3. I've never blogged and I want to try it, ok? And I have recently moved from one coast to another- which I think warrants some creative output.

Regardless...here goes.  My fiance Van and I recently moved to Pittsburgh from Los Angeles.  This was a fairly sudden move, basically Van was accepted to Carnegie Mellon, Tepper School of Business in June 2010 and we moved in late July, because school started early August.  Yeah, pretty life-changing and quick.

To make a long story short, we signed a lease in Pittsburgh sight unseen,  pretty much sold most of our possessions, including all of our furniture and my car, shipped 6 boxes via UPS and packed up the Mazda 3 and uprooted our lives to move 2,600 miles away.  We made the cross country road trip in 5 days, taking our time (kinda) and stopping to eat in several cities across the US, it was dubbed "Foodie Roadtrip 2010 across America."

Now, we have been living here for a little over a month and Van is loving school- he definitely made the right choice.  I recently got a job, doing business development for an organic food and lifestyle company; which is right up my alley.

I would like this blog to help me share my Pittsburgh finds, experiences, theories and thoughts...Here goes my attempt at living with the yinz and the yang.

  8. Hi Melissa! Please do- I think this is going to be fun :) Well, I think that you're thinking of a Primanti Bros sandwich- which yes, it literally has EVERYTHING IN the sandwich- including greasy fries, coleslaw, you name it. However, my boss also told me that when you order a grilled chicken salad, french fries come on top- haha, healthy right?
